Athule is the result of over 10 years of research and development and the corporate partnership between Waco Area Ventures and Baylor University.
With the goal to bring innovative technology solutions to the commercialization market, collaborators of Athule tirelessly worked on cultivating a new generation of propeller technology to forever change the scope of UAS and aviation industry.
Athule first began with the academic research of Dr. Ken VanTreuren and Dr. Charles Wisniewski due to vested interest and connections with the Air Force Academy.
It wasn’t until 2021 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic that their quiet, efficient propeller technology reach a level of maturity fit for the next steps of commercialization.
This is when Baylor University, more specifically the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative, was brought in as the technology commercialization force.
With a team of esteemed researchers, entrepreneurs, and engineers, what began as a propeller design soon emerged as a patented business in 2022.
Thus, Athule was born. In its infancy, the organization established several key partnerships including a contract with the US Air Force.
This partnership refined and evolved the quiet and efficient propeller technology for not only commercial use, but military applications as well.
Today, Athule aims to improve the operational efficiencies of propellers in several key functions and address the current needs of the aviation industry.
Athule’s design applies seamlessly to UAS, Fixed Wing, eVTOL, Fans, Turbines, etc. When quiet matters, Athule believes in “making it happen” for any blade driven platform whether new, retrofitted, or replaced. Regardless of its present applications, Athule is first and foremost an innovation that strives to be the leader and future of aviation.
