Baylor Planners Envision Discovery Park
Planning begins for the BRIC Discovery Park
In 2009, a group of state, country, and city government officials, higher education representatives, and local business people came together to study the idea of a research park that would foster the growth of research and innovation and stimulate economic growth in the region. The result of this was the establishment of the plan for a Central Texas Technology and Research Park (CTTRP) to develop, promote and market science and engineering technologies, university research, and advanced technology training and workforce development.
Following such institutions as Duke and Purdue universities, and with guidance from the Association of University Research Parks, the concept of a Baylor-affiliated university discovery park emerges the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC).
