CASPER
The Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics, and Engineering Research (CASPER) is a stand-alone research center located at Baylor University consisting of independent research groups in theoretical and experimental physics and education.

CASPER’s five research groups in experimental and theoretical physics and one research group in education are engaged in research, education and outreach projects with support from sponsors like NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
CASPER is currently conducting fundamental dusty plasma experiments aboard the International Space Station as part of an NSF- and NASA-funded study. Researchers believe studying plasmas and charged particles in microgravity will lead to new understanding of proto-planetary development as well as advances in astrophysics, planetary science, atmospheric physics, materials physics and even advanced manufacturing.
